I really want to like digital. really. I do. I want it to be easier. But it isn’t. It’s a load of crap. uh-oh… vent time.
Who in their right mind thought it would be a great idea to make photographers spend eternity trying to get the menu icons on the back of the camera to work while they are also trying to shoot? I mean seriously. What was wrong with changing f-stop on a lens just by rotating a knob so it opens up the pupil? What was wrong with changing the aperture settings on the camera body? Or the film speed? I just picked up a Canon t2i to try and shoot something and almost threw it against the wall due to the fact that it is a piece of shit that causes you to lose your train of thought in a composition due to the fact that you’re in their disgusting “pack rat” menu options trying to slow down the speed. Can I get an amen? I hate this. I want it to be easier! Make it easier! Or give me a new film camera pronto! I’d love one! Film is easier - so is an iPhone.
Who are the people designing the menu options on the back of the camera? I want to see how clean their homes are. I bet they have nick knacks all over their shelves collecting dust and a bunch of crap all over the place in unorganized piles, just like the back of these menus on the cameras. Can I please have some ZEN while shooting? My film camera is like an extension of my hand. My digital camera is like a cast covering my fingers making it hard to type. Get the cleaning ladies over, Canon and Nikon. You are both a mess! Take some lessons in organization. All you really need to do is walk into Apple in Cupertino and get schooled. Go get schooled! Seriously! Your pathetic hoarder like coding is killing me.
end rant.
